The new Tri-Agency Guide to Financial Administration (TAGFA) will take effect for all eligible institutions on April 1, 2020. As UBC was one of the twelve institutions involved in the pilot of this initiative since November 2018, this refresher course will review the core sections of the new Guide on the administration and use of grant funds.
In addition to the Core Refresher course, participants will have an opportunity to discuss complex case studies in an interactive group setting, to further build on their skills to interpret and apply the TAGFA principles and directives.
Key course objectives are:
- Applying the principles and directives that govern post-award administration of grants funded by the Tri-Agency
- Understanding and differentiating the respective roles and responsibilities of the Tri-Agency, administering institutions and grant recipients
- Recognizing the flexibility provided by the TAGFA
- Aplying institutional policies, administrative systems, procedures and controls at an advance level to ensure that activities are conducted in compliance with Tri-Agency policies and procedures
